Jack of all trades, master of some

Welcome to my website. Since I have got your attention, let me share some details about myself.

I was born in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. I have a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering focusing on Applied Mechanics and Mathematics from University of California, San Diego.

I am an Asst. Adjunct Professor at UC San Diego where I teach and do research. I absolutely love physics and mathematics and spend most of my time reading books, doing scientific research, writing journal papers, managing my business ventures and investments, and thinking about how the world works.

In investing, be it stock market or other business ventures, I see myself as a skeptical optimist—bullish on opportunity, yet careful with risk—focused on staying in the game for the long run, avoiding Gambler's ruin,  compounding steadily, and letting probabilities work in my favor, knowing that excessive risk-taking can just as easily lead to ruin as to reward.

If I had to put my life philosophy into one line, it would be: don’t do knowingly stupid things. If there is anything else you want to know about me or my work, feel free to reach out.

A probabilistic Optimal Sensor Design Framework

Wouldn't it be a powerful idea to design sensors to yield statistically the best possible information that can be used for risk-informed decision-making? We did just that in this research!

Quantifying the Value of Information

The modern world is driven by information. Hence, its important to quantify the consequences of using the information to make decisions. We did this on a Structural Health Monitoring  applications.

Learn about detailed variational formulation and numerical solution of a higher-order kinematically comprehensive geometrically exact beam that we proposed  a few years ago.
